CRESO is committed to keeping student researchers and staff
informed on current technology and information in the area of ecological research and species inventory techniques.
By regularly sponsoring workshops and bringing in experts in specific fields of study, students are exposed to new methodologies
and experimental design strategies at an early point in their research. This allows young researchers to make better
use of spread sheets, statistical packages (e.g. JMP), and data management programs (e.g. Arcview) for extracting meaningful
patterns from their own data. The strategy is to build a network of students that move from receiving training in a
particular area (e.g. sound library technology) to conducting workshops for incoming researchers. Students, of course,
are always glad to share their research with community groups (See Community Outreach).
